San Giovanni di Posada is a little town not far from Posada and the famous site La Caletta with its big touristic harbour. CURIOSITY
Posada is one of the most beautiful medieval towns in Sardinia with its Castello della Fava, an ancient fortress built by the judges of Gallura in the thirteenth century. Posada is a very interesting archaeological and naturalistic site.
TRADITIONS
Its name derives from Pausada, rest area, since it stood at an important crossroads between the roads coming from the sea and the hinterland, with the one connecting Terranova (Olbia) to Cagliari. Nature lovers can go exploring the Rio Posada that crosses the plain, which can be travelled by canoe, with the possibility of admiring the pink flamingos that populate it.
